Steamboat Gondola Relocation

Steamboat Gondola Relocation

In order to create the space needed to transform the Steamboat Base Area, a visionary change to the primary gondola was necessary. This gondola was originally integrated into a building that was also used for supporting the lift operation, food and beverage management as well as the ski company’s many offices.

Landmark assisted with the planning, design and construction of a new bottom terminal for the gondola. This terminal had to balance convenient pedestrian access, ADA accommodations, cable clearances, pit excavation and retaining walls, drainage and water quality – while maintaining ski run widths and pitches.
