A local’s favorite place to warm up and regroup at the Steamboat Ski Area. The exceptional logistical challenge of replacing the old Lodge in one, short construction season in a challenging location was solved by Landmark and Calcon Constructors and included the design, permitting and installation of almost one-half mile of an unconventional sewer system.
Calcon Constructors worked with the U.S. Forest Service to minimize forest impact and protect the natural surroundings all the while being able to work through inclement weather and all it entails. Constructed from demolition to finish in just 203 days.
The new building is a 13,000 square foot lodge with seating for 200 diners replaces the old ski patrol shack at 9,725 feet elevation located in the heart of prime skiing terrain providing sweeping panoramic views from the Flat Tops to the Mount Zirkel Wilderness Area and Storm Peak.
“The Four Points Lodge will introduce a new mountain tradition to Mt. Werner and the Steamboat Ski Resort” said Chris Diamond, President and COO for SSRC. “Steamboat and the Yampa Valley are unique, and it was important to us to maintain the traditions and mountain elements of Four Points that reflect this region’s history, charm and unique characteristics. I truly believe guests will be overwhelmed by the finished facility, creative culinary offerings and personal guest service experienced.”
